Medieval Table, inspired by a John Howe illustration, I wanted this piece to feel ancient. Taking a cue from the earliest surviving ecclesiastical furniture. This table was crafted entirely with hand tools from green oak, adzed top, hand-forged iron work, finished in beeswax. see my video on Youtube for more detail pics!
16th Century Table, based on a table shown in 'Age of Oak' by Victor Chinnery. Green Oak riven and hewn legs, apron and rails. Dart-stop chamfers. Mortice and tenon Draw bored joinery. The softly winding and undulating top is a single plank of re-claimed elm- finished with a scrub-plane. Finished in Beeswax.
Carved Dragon Throne chair, inspired by wainscot chairs with a more rustic rugged finish, I wanted this piece to feel ancient, it is therefore crudely shaped using the natural shape of the riven timbers. Handmade from green Oak using only handtools, finished in Beeswax.
